Differences Between Diabetes Mellitus: Type 1 and Type 2

There are great differences between diabetes mellitus one and type 2. In type 1 Mellitus, the body usually attacks the cells in the pancreas, which means it cannot make any insulin. On the other hand the type 2 diabetes, the body cannot make the required insulin ( Ferdousi et al.,2021).The risk factors for type 1 diabetes are not known, but the type 2 diabetes, some risk factors are known, including weight and ethnicity. In type 1 diabetes, the symptoms do occur more quickly, and type 2 diabetes symptoms are easy to miss because they appear more slowly. The management of type 1 diabetes is managed by having insulin to ensure there is control of one’s blood sugars. On the other side, type 2 diabetes can be managed by medication, diet and exercise. Through research, the cure and prevention, no known cure for type 1 diabetes are still being done. Type 2 diabetes is not able to be cured through prevention can be done and the same time, put into remission.

How does glyburide help decrease blood sugar levels?

The decrease of the blood sugar levels is done by glyburide, causing the pancreas to give or make insulin production ( D’Onofrio et al.,2021). This is a natural substance required to break down sugar in the body and assist the body in utilizing insulin efficiently. This kind of medication is used to assist in assistance of lowering blood sugar in individuals who’s their bodies naturally produce insulin. Again glyburide is used with sulfonylureas as the mechanism of action to increase insulin secretion that comes from the beta cells in the pancreas. For example, sulfonylureas do bind to the SUR1 receptors in the membranes of the beta cells of potassium ATP –dependent channels.

Teaching key points for patients taking oral anti-diabetic agents

The halves of the drug need to be given an hour before meals or as to as the doctor has prescribed ( Wang et al ., 2021).After taking drugs immediately, the patient should not delay mealtime, and in case one misses the dose, there is advised to take it as soon as possible. Regardless it is almost time for the scheduled dose that is next. In case of such a situation, there is a need to skip the missed dose and take the next dose as instructed. When there are symptoms of low blood sugar like hunger, trembling, and dizziness, you need to make sure your doctor is aware. If the patient becomes unconscious, the caregiver should take her to the accident and emergency department.
