Assignment Title: ADDIE: Design and Development

Assignment Overview: In this week’s assignment, you will complete the design phase of the ADDIE

instructional design model and begin development. This will take considerable thought on your part.

You will probably change your mind many times as you plan your instructional strategies. The actual

course set up is not complicated. The decision making takes time. You will also continue to build

your online course and create a podcast.

Deliverables: Assignments are due on or before Sunday at 12:00 Midnight of week 3. Submit the

document using the file name protocol NUR670 Week 3_last name.

Assignment Details:

There are multiple parts to this assignment.

1. Complete week 3 of the Instructional Design Worksheet, using the same document you

submitted in week 2. Update previous content as needed. If you make changes to weeks 1 or

2, please highlight them in a new color so they can be easily seen. Create

placeholders/content in Moodle (see Instructional Design Worksheet for details).

2. Develop a lesson plan (found on the Instructional Design Worksheet), creating an activity in

which you will interact with the students by video conference. Select the conferencing

technology of your choice (i.e. Zoom, Collaborate, Skype, FaceTime, Google Hangouts).

Create this assignment in Moodle. Do not include the chart. Write it as an actual assignment.

The information on the worksheet is to force you to think through how to create a learning

activity. Provide the students with the purpose of the activity and information on how to access

the video conference in the Week 1 folder of your course. Provide an external link to the

conferencing application.

3. Create a podcast/audio file (5 minutes or less). If you create an audio file, upload it to your

Moodle course as an Mp3 or similar file in the Week 2 folder of course. If it is a podcast,

include the link. The podcast should be relevant to the week 2 content. Use the program of

your choice to create the file. Several are discussed in this week’s lesson. Audacity

(https://www.audacityteam.org/) is recommended for ease of use. It is available as a free

download.

Grading: All components are graded in one rubric associated with the Lesson 3 Assignment.

The assignment components will be graded on content, organization, presentation, writing

mechanics, and correct APA formatting.
